The Junior Karting Championship

Round 2 of the 2016/2017 EIS Junior Kart Championship took place yesterday and it yet again proved to be an extremely close contest!

After all the heats were finished, 5 drivers sat at the top of the leaderboard tied on points at 16 apiece. Fastest lap times had to be used to determine the starting order for the Final race.

Thomas Hay made advantage of starting in pole-position by clearing off to win the final by a healthy margin. Sam Kingsbury, Ethan Scott and Hugh McViegh were left to battle it out for the final two podium spots. After multiple overtakes, Sam and Ethan rounded off the podium in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

A special mention goes out to Josh Martin who hadn't ever driven a Kart a month ago. After doing some 1 on 1 practice sessions with Stuart Millar earlier this month at our track, he finished 2nd in both his heats and went on to score a very credible 8th place in the final race.

Points Table, after 2 Rounds.
